Nokia Knows Laptops

November 6, 2009

Nokia Booklet 3GI am excited and eager to try out the Nokia Booklet 3G when it finally comes out. The first impression I had when I saw the specs is that this laptop is so small! I know it’s a mini; and mini laptops are naturally small, I know that. But to manage the amount of hardware on this device and still manage to squeeze it into such a thin body is just outright impressive.

The battery life will go on standby for 12 hours, longer than any other battery out there on the market. The best part, this device is very very light; I personally travel a lot with my laptop. In fact, I use an Asus Eee PC 1005HA because it is small and lightweight; but looking at the Booklet 3G’s specs makes me want to switch soon.

Maybe it’s the HD display, or the 200+ GB of internal storage, or the heavy duty battery; I am not exactly sure but these factors are making me drool and wish I have a Nokia Booklet right here and now. I am not even thinking about the 3G capabilities since I have great access to wireless LAN networks from where I am at. Still, I can imagine how useful this laptop would be if you are driving thanks to the all day connected feature of 3G and the additional GPS capabilities.

Nokia sure knows what I want to see in a laptop. It is hard to imagine that this is a first attempt from the mobile phone manufacturer, and I personally do not like some of the Nokia phones I have seen. If Nokia is considering to take part of the laptop industry, this sure makes one amazing first step. The only question now is which direction Nokia plans to go with this.
