Nokia 6730 Classic. Maptastic
The Vodafone-exclusive Nokia 6730 Classic will be released any day now, and we for one are more than a little excited. Put simply, this is a very small and very light smartphone. At just 83 grams, it is, in fact, one of the lightest smartphone ever created. And while not packing anything close to high-end features, the 6730 Classic does have a whole raft of things that will make the majority of punters more than satisfied.
Take the pre-installed Ovi Maps, for example, Nokia’s own mapping utility. Free, intuitive and kinda fun too, you get all this and more with it:
- Complimentary global lifetime pedestrian navigation license
- 3D satellite and terrain maps
- 3D landmarks in over 200 cities
- Enriched POI information by Lonely Planet, Michelin and Wcities
- Real-time traffic information
- Weather updates
Now, we know you can get all kinds of free stuff out there these days, but this really is a bundle and a half. Add to this a pretty decent mid-range camera, access to the Vodafone Music Client, a really nifty email program that mimics desktop programs and you’ve got, well, like we said: a very small and very light smartphone.
The 6730 Classic is also a real looker. Both the black and white versions are finished in very tasty materials, and the simple design is both pocket and palm friendly. The buttons take a bit of getting used to but you’ll get the hang of it in no time.
