Nokia makes their netbook debut with the Nokia Booklet 3G

September 28, 2009

Nokia Booklet 3GAs regular readers would know, this website doesn’t really review or preview any laptops or notebooks. However, when the biggest manufacturer of mobile phones decides to reveal a netbook of their own, there’s no way that we could actually stay mum about it!

The Nokia Booklet 3G was unveiled by Nokia via Nokia Conversations in September and is Nokia’s foray into the popular netbook segment of the market. Since most of us here are computer geeks to a certain extent (other than mobile phone experts), we can’t really be churlish as Nokia reveal their first ever entry in the notebook market.

But, without any further delay, you have to have a look at some pictures of the netbook, which shows you how serious Nokia are with regard to this product.

The Nokia 3G Booklet runs on the Intel Atom platform. However, it has the unique feat of being the only netbook to actually come armed with HDMI HD video output. However, we don’t really expect too much of this feature, considering that it is a Atom notebook, but the presence of this feature is a good step in the direction of making them media canter PCs.

The netbook has a battery life of about 12 hours, making it really useful to carry around if you want to work on the go. The phone, like the name suggests, comes armed with a HSDPA / 3G modem. The Wi-Fi connectivity feature is also present.

Another highlight of the netbook is the built – in GPS receiver, which should enable you to use the Nokia Maps app. The Nokia 3G booklet has a 10 inch screen and measures in at a mere 20 mm slim. The netbook weighs in at a very lightweight 1.25 kg. There is a web cam present on the laptop in addition to the Bluetooth feature.

Nokia Booklet 3G Reviews have said that the Nokia Booklet 3G will be sold for £520 but there will likely be many great Booklet 3G deals when it is released.
