The X3 is a phone which has a 2.4 inch TFT screen with a resolution of 240×320 pixels and is capable of displaying a maximum of 256k colours. The phone’s music player is capable of playing a variety of music formats such as AAC, AMR-NB, AAC+, AMR-WB, eAAC+, M4A, MP3, SP-MIDI, MP4 and WMA songs. The phone also comes armed with a 3.2 megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss optics lens and has an LED flash to ensure that the pictures you take in low light are also extremely clear. The other features in the camera include a number of scene modes such as manual, automatic, portrait, landscape, night portrait and night mode which enables you to take pictures according to the situation.
On the top of the phone is the power button, the USB port and the charger port. There is an accelerometer fitted on the phone which enables the screen to change orientation according to the way in which you are holding the phone.
The phone is also notable in that it is the first S40 phone to come with direct access to the Ovi Store, enabling you to purchase apps from the Ovi Store quickly. The phone also has a Facebook app which enables you to connect with your Facebook profile in an instant. There is also a social friendly feature present in the phone known as Lifecasting with Ovi, which enables you to publish your location as well as update your Facebook status via the homescreen of the phone.
The phone is set to be available in the 4th quarter of this year for an estimated retail price of 105 Pounds before subsidies and taxes, although there will surely be many great Nokia X3 contracts to choose from.
